Young in Bohuslän

A project that engages young reporters in Bohuslän with the mission to highlight investments for local development.

We highlight the stories of the countryside!

In 2025, our youth coach together with young Leader reporters visited rural investments around Bohuslän. They met passionate individuals and documented local initiatives that contribute to developing the place where they themselves live and want to grow up.

Now it's time to show the result!

During the spring, we will publish one film at a time, every Friday, here on the website. Each film is a unique meeting between young reporters and ongoing investments told through the youth's own perspectives and questions.

It is the reporters themselves who have shaped the interviews.
What do young people really want to know about their future?
What makes a place attractive to stay in?
How are opportunities created in the countryside?

The films reflect the answers.

The project is not just about documenting development. Alongside their reporting assignments, the youth have acted as a reference group to the board and contributed perspectives to the future development work in Bohuslän.

They have therefore not only talked about rural development.
They have been involved in shaping it.
It is just like theleader method works.

Local development, in this case, young people's desire to learn new things, understand, and convey, comes through the people who live and work in the area.

This week's film is Milton Russberg's report on a sustainable future!

Young stars

Thanks to our reporters!

We have worked with fantastic young reporters in this project. In addition to visiting rural initiatives, they have participated in a workshop where they learned more about working with film, they have been on study visits to SVT, participated in LAG board meetings, and been part of our young reference group to contribute ideas for future youth work in the association.

Are you also interested in developing the place where you live? Perhaps you are interested in being part of our board?

We are developing the association's work with young people and would love to get in touch with engaged youth.

About the project

Young in Bohuslän

Leader Bohuslän launched a new youth project in March 2025 focused on increasing young people's engagement and influence in local development. The project, named ”Young in Bohuslän,” aims to give youth a greater voice in community issues while inspiring more project initiatives within Leader Bohuslän's area.

Through the project, young so-called ”Leader reporters” have been recruited to document and spread information about various initiatives around Bohuslän. The young reporters have visited different actors for interviews that will become films and articles highlighting the positive effects these projects have had on local development. The material will be spread across various platforms to inspire more to engage and seek support for their own project ideas.

We want more young people to have the opportunity to influence and participate in the development of their local community. By educating and providing young people with a platform to report on local projects, we strengthen their role and influence. The youth will be adjunct members in our board work to provide the board with a young perspective.

We see great value in integrating young people in these contexts both for the youth's opportunity to gain experience but primarily to enhance the quality of board work and create a broader and more inclusive local development, where more voices and perspectives are given space..

The project runs during 2025-2026 and has a budget of 1 million.
