The community centers A hub in crisis and preparedness

An initiative for local rural development and preparedness

About the project

The community centers A hub in crisis and preparedness

What do we do when the power goes out and the roads are closed? In rural areas, the community center can be more than just a party venue as it can become a hub for safety. By getting to know your neighbor and knowing how you can help, we build a strong resilience in the countryside where no one is left behind. This is, if anything, an initiative for rural development that we also see potential in creating intergenerational work through activities for all ages with a focus on ensuring everyone can be prepared for a crisis. The Adult Education Association receives 665,744 kronor to help the local community in five municipalities to equip their community centers with preparedness plans, exercises, and knowledge. Together with the Western Community Center District new paths to local safety are created.
