A natural beach for everyone

Rossö Community and Recreation Association has been granted 500,000 kronor in project support from Leader Bohuslän to develop Rossö harbor. The purpose of the project, which has been named ”A natural beach for everyone,” is to improve accessibility and create a safe and attractive environment for both residents and visitors.

The project includes the construction of a wooden deck with stairs over the existing rock pier, which will make the beach more accessible and usable for more target groups, including people with disabilities. This initiative aims to increase safety at bathing and enable more activities, such as outdoor yoga, workout sessions, and cold baths, as well as create a better place for spectators at the sailing school that is held annually in the harbor.

Rossö has already established itself as a popular destination, with an activity area and other attractions that attract many visitors. By improving accessibility to the beach, the project is expected to contribute to increased activity in the area, which also benefits local businesses, such as Rossöboden and the café at the entrance to the national park.

The project has been anchored with local stakeholders and is part of Rossö Community and Recreation Association's long-term work to make Rossö a more accessible and attractive destination. Construction is planned to start immediately and is expected to be completed in February 2026. This initiative will contribute to improving the area's attractiveness and creating sustainable development for the future.
