Meeting place Källö-Knippla

The Trade Association Centrum has had its project application approved by Leader and awarded a grant of 750,000 kronor to establish “Meeting place Källö-Knippla”. The purpose of the project is to create a sustainable and central meeting point for both residents and visitors on the island. The facility will offer a place where people can socialize, work, and access various community services year-round, and the communal area will be right next to the new store.

When the communal area is completed, it will house a wide range of functions, such as a library, workspaces, and seating areas where people can eat their food, whether brought from home or purchased in the store. The premises will be open to the public at no cost and are expected to become a valuable place for both residents and visitors. The goal is to create a long-term sustainable meeting place that strengthens both social cohesion and services on the island.

The new meeting place is expected to function as a hub for both the local population and visitors, contributing to increased attractiveness and positive development of the local economy.

The project “Meeting place Källö-Knippla” is estimated to be completed by 2025. The ambition is to create a long-term and sustainable gathering place that will constitute a central part of the island's social and economic life for many years to come.
