About the micro support

Development Bohuslän is one of our micro grants. Our micro grants involve a simplified application process, faster decisions and payments, which makes it easier for you as a project applicant if you want to carry out a smaller activity. Smaller funds that will go quickly and easily!

What can you seek support for?

• activities that contribute to increasing participation and inclusion in society
• create meeting places
• test a solution to a challenge for society or for the applicant organization
• create arrangements that increase access to nature, culture and outdoor activities as well as sporting activities
• to make your organization more sustainable (social, economic, environmental)
• technology and skills development

Who can apply for the support?

All rural stakeholders in our municipalities who want to create open, inclusive activities. This means that municipalities, companies, associations and even private individuals have the opportunity to apply for micro-support within the framework of Development Bohuslän.

Compared to applying for support for a large project, micro-support means a simplified application process, faster decisions and faster disbursements.

When can you apply?

Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis as long as there is money left to distribute. Always contact us in the leadership team before you start an application, we will listen to your idea and guide you so that the application is done correctly.

Strömstad Mile – New Life in the Stadsloppet

The purpose and ambition of this project is to enhance and develop the Strömstad Mile event into a larger and more inclusive public festival. We want to see greater participation in activities around the race and open it up to more than just the participants in the race. We want to make the Strömstad Mile a larger meeting place with space for entertainment, food and collaborations with local companies, associations and cultural actors.   

Spontaneous sports in Stora Höga and the surrounding area

By this project Do you want to encourage children and young people to let go of their screens and instead discover activities such as sports and common play outdoor. Through a sponsor, they have gained access to a container that they plan to fill with a variety of different types of equipment and training materials. Furthermore, they want to arrange tournaments in, for example, brännboll, and eventually involve associations and clubs for try-out events which the children/young people have expressed interest in.

Community, health & creativity in Bullaren

This initiative wants to implement eight at the Handicraft House in Bullaren. The events will provide opportunities for community, creativity and mindfulness. The meetings will be free of charge and open to everyone aged 14-100 years. These meetings will create a clear meeting place at the Handicraft House for the residents of the village and in this way build a community. 

Young Filmmaker on Brännö 

Ung Film Brännö is a project that will engage 16 young people in filmmaking. By engaging the Filmkollo concept, the young people will be introduced to scriptwriting and discussions about values, as well as a weekend of filmmaking with professional equipment. This project wants to attract more young people into the cultural sector, something that has been struggling with for a long time.     

Children's and family entertainment on Fästningsholmen 

This initiative aims to give all children, regardless of socio-economic background, the opportunity to go to the theatre and do fun things, especially during the summer holidays. In this theatre production, you will get to follow a real pirate adventure with Captain Sable and the pirate Captain Wooden Legs. In their adventure, you will also learn about the equal value of everyone and what happens when you litter in the sea. Of course, there is a pirate treasure that must be found, maybe you will get your very own gold coin.    

Öckerö needs more dimensions

Öckerö leisure centre wants to acquire and install a 3-D printer so that the young people who visit the leisure centre will have the opportunity to learn how to use and express themselves with 3-D modelling. In parallel with the installation of the printer, they also want to acquire educational 3-D programs for the leisure centre's computers to encourage the learning process of how the printer works. The aim is to expand an already existing creative meeting place for young people.

The Aero Club in Gothenburg moves to Backamo

The Aeroclub in Gothenburg would like to invite you to an opening party in their new premises. They want to do this by arranging a day for the public where they offer try-out activities and a demonstration of their new premises. They want to use this day to make contacts in the local area and give the public a chance to get to know the club and its members. 

Elinor Games Summer Festival

The already well-established summer festival wants to enhance the festival experience even more by focusing on children's theater and circus activities.  

Bohuslän folk music for children and youth

Four string instrument teachers took the initiative to create a place for children and young people where they focus on learning about Bohuslän music by learning to play string instruments. The project will be expressed in a four-day course during the summer of 2026 where they teach the instruments violin, cello, nyckelharpa and singing.  

The Road to Outdoor Life

This project aims to make recreational activities accessible to young people aged 13-26. The plan is to focus on three main activities: paintball, camping and purchasing camping equipment. The idea for the project emerged after young people expressed an interest in getting out into nature more during the summer, but there was a lack of cheap and accessible activities in the area. The goal and purpose of the project is to strengthen relationships and create unforgettable memories.  

New canoe section, Svenshögens SK

Svenshögens SK is a multifaceted association that wants to expand its offering even more. They began to notice that there was an interest in kayaking in the town and thus wanted to create as inclusive an environment as possible with access to equipment and leaders. An important factor in the project is that you should not have to provide your own equipment, but you should, regardless of your financial circumstances, be able to participate in kayaking. The project is primarily aimed at children and young people.  

Green Oasis – a greenhouse for sustainability, community and learning

With this micro-support, the aim is to create a green oasis in Jydeklovans.
preschool on Brännö as part of an innovative investment in sustainability,
community and learning. The green oasis will function as a
educational tool where children, educators and guardians actively
participates in the planning, cultivation and ongoing care of the plants.
The initiative will provide children with a practical and inclusive education and
teaching about the natural cycle, strengthening community and
collaboration, improving the outdoor environment to promote children's well-being.

Outdoor Ping Pong Dyrön 

To make Dyrön even more attractive as a visitor destination, they want to build and install an outdoor ping-pong table at Galleri Bockeberget, Scen för Alla and the Minigolf course. It is assessed that there are not enough activities aimed at young people as well as residents and visitors on Dyrön. In addition, the aim is to activate islanders and visitors and strengthen Dyrön as a visitor destination. 

The forest glade

The project, in collaboration with the Women's Shelter, wanted to create a sanctuary and breathing space for women and children exposed to violence. On several occasions, sheltered accommodation was offered where people had the opportunity to get away from stressful circumstances to rest and instead be surrounded by animals and nature. The purpose of the project is not only recovery, but also to create a network of contacts. After the end of the project, further support is sought to establish a permanent business.

Mobile outdoor gym at Stenungsunds Boxing Club

Stenungsund Boxing Club is growing outside their existing premises. In order to expand their business and utilize the public space outside their premises, the club wanted to purchase equipment for a mobile outdoor gym. This created the opportunity for outdoor workouts without having to build and install fixed outdoor equipment. The project led to the establishment of an ”outdoor arena” and around thirty new members. 

Protect our young hockey players – Save lives and prevent injuries with the right knowledge!

During the project period, a targeted first aid training was carried out with a focus on hockey injuries. A total of 15 leaders from all youth teams participated, including both coaches and other important adults.

The training included, among other things, the management of concussions, fractures, bleeding, neck injuries, severe violence to the body and dental injuries – all common risks in ice hockey. The focus was on practical elements and simulations to create safety in real-life situations. The training resulted in a safer and more secure existence for both adults and young people, a common safety routine and a network that transcends borders between the teams, and each team now has at least two trained adults in current and specialized knowledge in emergency care. 

SEAWEED

After a wave of inspiration washed over the initiator of this project, a performing arts performance and an exhibition focusing on seaweed were created. A mobile installation of preserved seaweed pots was exhibited, triggering conversations and a curiosity about how we really treat the ocean, and what we need to do to save it. 

30th anniversary of the Sunflower Cultivation Association 

The purpose of this project was to celebrate the members' long commitment to their association by organizing both a dance as an evening activity and two lectures during the day to further deepen their cultivation knowledge. They also invited the public to show how they have enabled local cultivation in the municipality and in this way inspire others. 

Youth Day 

This project was a collaboration between five coastal municipalities that held two youth days with a focus on horses and machinery. The aim was to showcase rural activities to attract both new and existing members to the participating associations. Approximately 400 people showed up on the days and took part in the associations' demonstrations of their activities. The effect of the collaboration is expressed in a closer collaboration between the municipalities and their associations as well as further exposure; they plan to continue holding member meetings to maintain their collaboration.  

Garden and amenities

The association wanted to expand its existing activities by making it possible to have exhibitors and visitors on site also outdoors. However, as they were limited by the surface, a lawn that was not suitable for exhibition tables when it rained, they wanted to build a smaller gravel pitch outside their premises to offer more space for exhibitors. This benefits small-scale exhibitors, local actors and visitors' opportunities to take part in the exhibitions. Several events are held annually and the gravel pitch has contributed to being able to carry them out. 

The Barn Festival

A cultural festival on Styrsö with everything from stage activities to workshops, felting and carving for a broad target group. Associations participated with exhibitions and information about their respective activities. The barn festival established the cultural association on the island and the event was very appreciated, the festival is planned to be held annually in the future. Thanks to the renovation of the barn for the festival, it is now ready to host several future cultural events. 

Tjörns RK US mini camp at MG Horse

The youth section of Tjörns Ridklubb wanted to arrange a riding trip to MG Horse, an organized event aimed at development, education and community.
Through collaboration with an external actor such as MG Horse, new contacts were created for the young people and opportunities for future collaborations, which could lead to further activities and knowledge exchanges. Which means development for Tjörns Ridklubb.

Putting Ellös on the map in 2025

Projektet ”Sätta Ellös på kartan 2025” var ett samarbete mellan tre föreningar i Ellös som firar jubileum under 2025. Genom en rad öppna och inkluderande evenemang – bland annat konserter, barnteater, EPA-disco, familjedag med krabbfiske m.m. – ville man skapa engagemang, gemenskap och synlighet för orten. Det specifika mikrostödet söktes för en gratiskonsert med Öbarna/Ångmaskinen. Förhoppningen är att evenemanget ska bli årligt återkommande och därmed bidra till långsiktig social och kulturell hållbarhet. 

Riding clubs collaborating for development

Tjörns Ridklubb together with Valsängs Rid Center and Orust Ridklubb wanted to strengthen the collaboration between the three riding clubs' members and create commitment, participation and new activities. With this support, they wanted to carry out a lecture and a workshop that would promote community and lay the foundation for collaboration within equestrian sports locally. A common goal is to arrange a new cup for both pony and horse.

The Musical Rämjes

The Skagerack Cultural Association put on the musical ”Rämjes”, a performance that explores Strömstad’s musical history from the 1950s to the present day through local music store Rämjes. The musical, based on interviews with locals, was staged at the Skagerack Cultural Center in April 2025 with the goal of uniting different age groups and cultural backgrounds. The support went to a broad marketing effort that would increase the opportunity for more people to experience and participate in this event and the association’s future activities.

Information screen for one of Kulturarv Kungälv's embroideries

The Cultural Heritage Association Kungälv is seeking support to develop interactive touch screens that present the history of Kungälv by digitizing embroideries of historical events. The project aims to make history more accessible and interesting, especially for young people, by offering text and images in four languages. The project strives to increase historical interest without negative environmental impact and promote social inclusion.

Updating and developing information

Bokenäsets Framtid wanted to improve information for residents and visitors in the Bokenäs area. The project involved updating and installing new signs with up-to-date information about important places and attractions. The initiative aimed to strengthen community cohesion and the accessibility of information even for those who do not use digital means.

Bath stairs to future sauna

Hunnebostrands kallbadhusförening planned to build an accessible bathing staircase at their new sauna in Hästedalen, which would make cold baths safer and more accessible, especially for the elderly and disabled. The staircase will not impact the environment and promote social and economic sustainability, contributing to an extension of the tourist season.

Country life in Lysekil

The Rural Life project in Lysekil aimed to strengthen the visibility of businesses in the Lysekil countryside through a common marketing platform. The activities included digital marketing and the creation of meeting places to promote local goods, services and experiences. The project engaged local actors and focused on sustainable development, gender equality and reduced environmental impact.

Klädesholmen Tradjazz Festival

The Tjörnjazz Association will once again transform Klädesholmen into a vibrant jazz scene on July 13, 2024, where a mix of local talent and established jazz musicians from all over the country will perform. This day, highlighted by both enthusiastic young musicians and life-long jazz veterans, promises to be a family celebration where generational boundaries are blurred and music unites all ages. New for this year is a mobile stage in the park by the swimming area for the two closing concerts, after the festival it will be investigated whether to build a permanent stage that can be used all year round for various events on the island.

Take basketball badges with SBK Eagels

Stenungsunds Basket is the first in Sweden to offer the chance to earn basketball badges! Between July 1 and August 9, children and young people are welcome to participate in free basketball training at Kristinedalsskolan and at Norums Holme. Participants will learn the basics of basketball, including dribbling, shooting and defense, by collecting badges. The goal is to inspire more people to play basketball and increase engagement in club activities.

Creator's Day

Bräd- och Rollspel Stenungsund is organizing a Creator's Day on August 17, 2024, a creative workshop to discover the board and role-playing hobby. The day includes activities such as miniature painting, terrain building, adventure writing, role-playing testing and lectures. Experienced tutors lead the day and participants get to keep their creations. Open to all ages.

Autumn Farm Market

The autumn farm market in Tanum is getting bigger and bigger this year with over 40 exhibitors offering locally grown produce and local crafts. This year, there will be increased marketing, live music by a local band that will travel between the four farms, sheep herding and of course lots of locally grown produce and fine crafts.
The goal is for more people to become aware of the area's local products and to showcase all the fantastic small business owners and craftsmen.
