Theme: map/road trip

On February 3, local food producers and rural entrepreneurs gathered at Rörane Studio in Bottna for a networking meeting focused on how local food and rural businesses can become more visible to visitors in northern Bohuslän. The meeting was organized in collaboration with Leader Bohuslän and Locally Produced in the West.

The evening's theme was map and road trip, where participants took part in inspiring examples from other parts of the country, including Food Craft Safari and Dalslands Food. The discussions revolved around opportunities, challenges, and important considerations regarding collaboration, boundaries, opening hours, and financing.

The meeting offered valuable networking, experience sharing, and a shared desire to continue the dialogue on how a sustainable and clear concept can be developed to strengthen local food production and rural tourism destinations in Bohuslän.

Theme: Tjörn food – paths forward

On November 18, local producers and engaged food enthusiasts gathered at Billströmska Folk High School for an inspiration evening about Tjörn's future food production. The meeting built on the Leader project Collaboration Hoga Saluhall and the program series Tjörn food, and aimed to create direction for a more sustainable and local food supply on the island.

Participants noted that Tjörn has good cultivation conditions and a growing interest in local food, but that coordination and a common strategy are lacking. Several ideas were raised, ranging from potato storage and mills to the need for preparation kitchens, mapping of producers, and development of local brands.

The evening's speaker, Tobias Nilsson from Roslagen, shared experiences of how cultural grains, local processing, and shared infrastructure can strengthen both biodiversity and the local economy. The example of Roslagskorn showed how small-scale initiatives can create new job opportunities and significant local engagement.

A SWOT analysis pointed out both opportunities and challenges for Tjörn, from land scarcity and high property prices to strong engagement and favorable growing conditions. The meeting concluded with a desire to continue the process and develop a common vision for Tjörn's food production, aiming to showcase the work during Future Week from May 2–9, 2026.
